Car Hit on the Northway by a Truck Carrying Logs and Rolls Over Into the Ditch

Clients, a woman and her niece, were driving north on I-87 in Essex County. A truck carrying a full load of logs hit their compact car, pushed it down the road, and the car flipped into the ditch. Clients had back injuries, closed head injuries, and severe post traumatic stress. I settled their claims for $350,000.

Hunter Shot After Dark

Client was hunting with some acquaintances. After sunset, client was dragging his deer back to the truck. Another hunter shot him through the gut. He was airlifted to the hospital. Although he was able to return to work, Client had permanent pain. I got $150,000 for him.

Client was pulling the bungee cord across a toolbox on the roof of his van. The hook broke off from the cord. The cord hit him in the eye, knocking him to the ground. Client had eye surgery. Client was prescribed Baycol for his high cholesterol by his doctor. The manufacturer knew that this medication was dangerous. Client ended up on dialysis and had severe leg pain. He did recover and was able to return to work. I got $135,000 for him.

Grocery Store Clerk Knocks Over Woman With Stocking Cart

Client was shopping at a local super market. She was bent over near the rear swinging doors picking items off a low shelf. The clerk pushed the overfull stock cart through the swinging double doors and knocked client over. She suffered a torn rotator cuff and needed knee surgery. I got $110,000 for her.

Passenger Injured By Car In The Wrong Lane In No Pass Zone

Client was a passenger in the small pickup driven by her husband. The Defendant was passing a tractor-trailer in a no pass zone and hit them head on. Client had permanent neck injuries. I got $120,000 for her.

Clinton County seized the properties of two clients without ever serving the notice of foreclosure on them. The County refused to accept the unpaid taxes from my clients. After a trial in Federal Court, the jury awarded my clients $94,776 for taking their property without due process of law.

Jury Awards Money to Mini Mart Owner for Fraud by Salesman

Client owns a small market in Plattsburgh. A slick salesman had him sign a lease for a chicken fryolator by promising to take it back if it was not profitable. Client never did make money on the chicken and the leasing company said he owed them $22,000 (for a $4,000 fryolator). After a trial, the jury awarded client $25,000 for the fraud by the salesman.

Woman "Rear-ended" While Stopped at a Light

Client was waiting in her car at a red light. The driver behind her was throwing a snowball at a girl in his backseat. He drove into client’s car. She suffered a neck injury that bothered her for years. The jury awarded her $45,000 for her pain and suffering.

Construction Workers Paid Under The Table Without Overtime Pay

Eight local construction workers were paid under the table by a property owner for working on his apartment buildings. Over several years, they were not paid time-and-a -half for overtime pay. Under the federal wage law, they were due double their unpaid wages, plus their attorney’s fees. After filing a federal lawsuit, I obtained $100,000 for these workers.
